From Derry, New Hampshire, Alex has been involved in music ever since he was exposed to Disney's Fantasia at a young age. He took on Violin after being inspired by Mairead Nesbit's performance on Lord of the Dance. He then took on Piano, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Percussion, Trumpet, and Singing throughout his academic years.
Alex started the flute at age 12. His aunt was an inspiration with the instrument. He was also influenced by a Boston Pops performance in May of 2005.
In November of 2011, he attended a Boston Symphony concert; the program included Harbison's Symphony No. 4, Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe, and Gustav Mahler's Symphony No.1. It inspired him to become a professional flutist and to share his passion for music.
Alex has studied with Robin Matthias, Sarah Brady, and Dr. Jessica Lizak.
Alex currently holds the Second Flute chair for the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra in Salem, Massachusetts. Alex currently teaches private lessons independently. He is also a sub player for community orchestras across the Greater Boston Area.
